Finding both the motivation and the inspiration to build a successful online business is crucial to the outcome you will experience. This can be a very lonely business, so if you do not have resources to draw upon on a daily basis, you may find the challenges to be more than you can bear. Think about the goals and dreams you want to achieve, the reason why you are starting this business, and the people you connect with on the Internet who have a positive impact on what you are learning and implementing each day.
We all have different goals and dreams related to our businesses. These will also change significantly over time. My original goal, back in 2005 and 2006, was to replace the income I had been earning while working as a classroom teacher and in real estate. I could not see much beyond that at the time. You may have a similar goal, or it may be much more evolved than mine was. Whatever it is, be sure to write it down and refer to it regularly for best results.
Your ‘Reason Why’ is very important. I had health problems and wanted to be able to make a living by working from home. Once I realized I could do this I expanded my ‘Reason Why’ to include helping my family and my community. Once you start taking action every day on what you are learning, you will see this part of your life expand with ease and grace.
As I already mentioned, working from home and sitting in front of your computer each day can be extremely lonely. That’s why you must find people who are doing the same thing to connect with online. When I was starting out there was no social media (hard to believe, but true!) and I wondered if anyone would ever find my blog or know who I was. I started reaching out to the people who were giving teleseminars at the time, as well as connecting with other people who were attending these calls. This gave me a group to share ideas with, and some of us still know each other five years later.
Motivation and inspiration can come from many different sources. Knowing that you are improving your life, helping others around you, and building a business that will sustain you for many years to come may be exactly what you need to move forward each day. Having a reason to work from your computer will always make it more meaningful for you. Connecting with other like-minded individuals will make starting and growing your business even more fun and exciting.
